A group, the National Intervention Group has called for the arrest of the wife of the President, Hajia Tuari Yar’Adua for allegedly blocking access to President Umaru Yar’Adua.

The group had in a statement by its spokesman, Mr. Achike Chude, alleged that the action of Turai in unlawfully detaining the President was treasonable.

The statement reads in part, “We are therefore calling for the arrest for treason against Turai, the Chief Security Officer of the President, the chief media officer to the President,and others who are involved in this conspiracy against the Nigerian people and state for the continued illegal detention, possible unlawful incacaration and forced isolation and alienation of the President.

“We also condemn, in the strongest terms, the mischievous and self motivated antics of the governors and their collaborators in the National Assembly over this crisis.”
